Keeping in Contact Using WhatsApp

Being in the States, you often don’t hear others talking about using the smartphone app called WhatsApp. WhatsApp is, simply put, a messaging app. It’s crazy to see the numbers of just how widely used this app is across the whole globe. It has become such a popular application that Facebook bought the company in 2014 for a staggering 19 Billion USD.

The thing that makes WhatsApp so special is it allows people to easily message one another just like text messages, but it works everywhere in the world (as long as you have an internet connection). That means you can easily keep in touch with your friends all over the world without having to pay for some type of premium service or costs. And if you’re sitting there thinking, “Hmm, can’t I do the same thing with Facebook messenger?” – well, you aren’t wrong. That’s probably the main reason why Facebook acquired the company, to basically take over the userbase, and maybe eventually merge it into Facebook messenger somehow, to build the Facebook brand even stronger.

Fast forward to present day, WhatsApp is still around just like it was before, but now you can even download WhatsApp for pc, which was a long desired feature since the app took the world by storm. Nowadays you can easily message your contacts from the convenience of your computer, instead of having to dig your phone out of your pocket all the time.
